Good stuff, but on #7 the writer uses "begs the question" when she means "raises the question."

It is good to know what the words you write mean. It's a pretty basic step to being a writer and it's not that hard.

edit: i agree that the media spends waaaayyyyyy too much time on useless stuff (eg Natalee Holloway), but some of the article's alternatives.... well. see my pre-edit part of the post.

Another story not getting any coverage (at least on NPR, so far) is the Harry Ried land deal. I've known about it for a few days.

I'm pretty sure barton was being sarcastic given the overly liberal overtones of the article. However, the article does make a good point of the ludicrous nature of the stories the media cover.
