Hello to you all,

I'm looking for a slimline replacement for my TV at home--DLP or the like would be fine, but I don't need anything bigger than about 25". Anybody know the price range I'd need to be in to find one with some good hookups (as in component, HDMI, or DVI)?

http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product. ... id=3757019

This is one I'm looking at--could I hook a HTPC up to it and get some decent resolution out of it (as in over 1024x768-ish)? Would gaming with the computer be out of the question due to poor monitor quality?

Thanks for any advice,
jkpq45

You won't find dlp in that size range. doenst matter since crt is the best anyway. You need to spend a lot more than 130 to get hdmi hookups. check this out http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp ... 2652695847
or this

you wont find hdmi on non-hdtv tvs, and it costs more.
you could always get a hdtv without hdmi, but that would be stupid since there would be no way to get an hd signal into your tv if you wanted to have an upscan dvd player. the hd tv would operat at 1080 interlaced if you plugged your r computer into it, so it would be lower resolution thatn a computer monitor but still higer than an x box or ps2

1920x1080 would be 16:9 AR-
1440x1080 would be 4:3-

Could I expect this from any TV with component input, or would it just need to be 1080i compatible (as in HDTV ready?) My computer could act as the HDTV tuner, right?

Thanks,
jkpq45

You physically won't be able to get a HD resolution out of that Sanyo. Your cheapest (and definitely highest resolution) alternative is to buy a widescreen computer monitor. This has all the inputs you need as far as a HTPC is concerned. Try this one. I'm getting it in a couple of months.
