i really havent been much of a fan of wireless, but now i need it.
the laptop I have seems to want to connect to a gateway address that doesn't exist rather than the one I have. In my case, the gateway's address is 192.168.1.1, but the wireless card tries to connect to 192.168.8.1
Somehow it manages to get an IP address from this imaginary gateway and tell windows that it is successfully connected, but my router/gateway doesn't see it as connected.
Is there a way that I can force the gateway address to the correct one, or am I just missing some simple setting that would have saved me the past 2 hours of experimenting?
