I have an IBM Thinkcentre M51. Its about 4 years old and has a Pentium 4 processor. I was thinking about replacing the processor. Would I experience any major problems? Or any problems at all? Its a Socket LGA 775 so can I replace it with any Socket LGA 775?

I had a Socket 775 from about that time and I could only replace it with Pentium 4s, but it all depends on the motherboard. Do you know your motherboard model?

Basically I highly doubt the mobos support C2Ds. Even if it is 775 it would need a pretty hefty bios update which I doubt IBM would hand out since it is so old.
