I've recently discovered that microsoft is the company behind all the outsourcing to India. It began way back when they decided to make Age of Empires series to compete with Blizzard's Starcraft. In order to attempt to design better, more efficient code, they wrote the entire game in machine code. Naturally, they had no Comp Sci insane enough to want to program 300 megabytes worth of machine code. So Microsoft did some looking around, trying to find someone willing to program age of empires. They stopped when they looked overseas to india, where they could naturally hire a thousand coders for about the same price of 100 of their original coders. Since then, many companies have noticed the value of outsourcing to india. Not only do they obtain code at a cheaper cost, it comes with so many bugs they garuntee repeat customers for all the upgrades and fixes.
