I'm thinking of buying one of these cards to replace my 9200. My question is, which one would be better judging by the core and ram speeds they give.

Why not buy 9800 Pro with the R360 core and OC to a 9800xt?

Can't tell the difference between the two. I can't access the first link for some reason. Just times out.

The only physical difference between the two cards is the cooling solution. you can change the engine/mem clock once you get it.

Couldn't agree more. That's the most cost effective solution right now. Get one of those MSI 9800 Pros. If you get lucky, you'll get one that gets to like 480 MHz on the core. Just for reference, stock 9800 Pro core speed is 378 MHz.

try to stay away from Saphire and PowerColor...they are the retarded brothers of the ATI family

Here's a good deal if you are dead set on a 9600xt:

My PowerColor 9600XT Ultra runs fine for me. I guess my card is only slightly retarded... Sort of like me.

Hrm..I haven't really heard bad things about their 9600/9800 line, but I do know that their X800 Pros are the best out of every other manufacturer, especially since ALL of their X800 Pro VIVOs can be flashed to X800 XT easily.

 I'm not saying they are bad...but if you generally compare them to a Built by ATI card...the Saphire/PowerColor cards have slower timings. So if you are going to purchase a model, go for a BBA (Built By ATI) card.

I have a 9500 pro and was thinking of upgrading to a 9800 pro. Is it worth the ~$200 to upgrade? Rest of my system is AMD 3200+ oc to 2300, 1GB 3200LLC2 ram, A7N8X-Deluxe, 400W psu, 36GB 10k WD Raptor and 160 BG Baracuda

I'm still happy with my 9800 SE that I modded to a 9800pro... it's great
