I am in desperate need of a videocard that I can borrow for a few weeks. My current vid card is going to be RMAd back to ATI, and I need some sort of video card that I can use while it is being repaired. I would prefer something along the lines of a Radeon so I dont have to install new drivers, but anything would do. I might be willing to pay something along the lines of a couple bucks a week, but anything more I cant do.

Thanks.

I thought they kept a percentage on returned open hardware, even within 14 days.

I would prefer to borrow someones, that way I dont have to take out a video card, pack it up, and return it to the store every 14 days while my vid card is out. However, if its more like 30 days, and they dont charge for opened hardware, then it sounds good to me. After all, it would always be nice to have a $400 videocard for a month...

I believe it is 14 days...and no they do not keep a percentage. I wanted to try some stuff out with a Netgear wireless router...took it back a coulple of days later when I was done. Didn't cost me a penny.

heh..and while a vid card may cost 400 elsewhere, itd be more like 530 at staples.

I have lots of little 2Mb video cards I could loan out. They are old enough that the drivers required for them are already in Windows. You won't have much of a gaming machine, but they will let you see stuff...

BTW, the 2Mb ones are PCI, I have one Nvidia AGP 32Mb card I am not using at the moment, but that might require some driver stuff that you don't want.

Bah. If we're comparing sizes of... "video cards"... I've got one that takes up three.

How much do you want for Ti 4200 ? I am assuming, as you are not using the card, you might be interested in selling it.

i've offered it several times in the For Sale section and yes I am willing to sell it, for the right price. Just make me a reasonable offer. The card is soo old now I really can't expect anybody to pay $70 for it. So just make an offer.

well stick, theyll work kinda. i was running a gf4 mx440 and an ati 9200 last year and it ran like ass, but ran none the less, with some fideling though im sure its doable just not fun.

its better to try and stay within the same brand if ur trying for multiple vid cards, my servers got 3 cards, gf4 mx440 4xagp, gf4 mx440 8xpci, tnt2 pci.... all nvidia and its beautiful, the gaming's got a 9600xt and thats all it needs, and i dun want to intermix the ati and nvidia...

main problem you might see is the super settings crap, going properties and getting all the card specific stuff. youll prolly just get the generic settings which includes nothing... so gl getting ati and nvidia... or maby i just had a bad experience
