okay, thanks for the heads up, (sorry if my previous comment appeared to convey an "excess of sass"), but I really need just to buy one for the 5volt power adapter.

If you are asking what happened to the old AC adapter, I dropped it, and shattered the innards of it. I was using it to power a project, that is, until that fateful moment.

Couldn't you just pick up a 5 volt adapter from radioshack? Or is there something special with the zip drive power adapters

3 reasons:
I want to pay less than 10 dollars.
ZIP drives are oh-so-oh obsolete, people ar just throwing them away.
They are 5 volts at 1amp, which is slightly more powerful than normal wall warts (5volts at 500mA).
