i have a AGP TNT2 Ultra (32MB) card, but it's a 1X or a 2X so won't fit in mb's with 4X/8X slots (the ones with the 'locking' mechanisms)... had to find out the hard way. any more information on maybe making it work would be appreciated. i'd be willing to buy or trade the TNT2 Ultra card for a FX5200 or maybe something older (no MX's) that is AGP 4X/8X compatible. email me at audi100quattro@hotmail.com Thanks.
what's the difference between nvidia's MX, TI, and FX series? i know you couldn't play prince of persia on MX cards... how many pci slots will the special cooling take up?

GeForce4 MXes are really just fast GeForce2's. No hardware pixel shaders. The Ti's are full DirectX 8.1 cards with hardware pixel and vertex shaders (of the older variety). The FX cards are all DirectX 9 parts, although performance varies widely (I've heard the 5200 is a consistent under-performer). NVidia's newest card (the 6800, not sure if it has a FX or not), is roughly twice as fast as the 5900's. Or maybe it's twice as fast as an ATI 9800.
