Like in the last month the ping for most game servers has been up in the 200s, and only a few being around 50 like usual. Anyone else having this problem?

Yeah, I've been having the same problems recently. Both Unreal Tournament and Return to Castle Wolfenstein have been returning high pings for me, and some of my friends who play CS have been seeing high pings too, even to the S. Tower servers.

It's because the dumb shits at Mizzou are sending all of their internet-2 traffic through the router in Columbia that handles all of our ordinary Internet traffic. Do a trace route (tracert in Windows, traceroute in Solaris (and possibly other Unix/Linux flavors) to someplace outside of UMsystem if you want to get pissed off. Normal response times are around 10-30 milliseconds at co-r12-01-blah blah blah. It's like the 3rd or 4th hop in a route from TJ.

yeah I did something abnormal yesterday and bought a game, C&C renegade. I haven't been in a game less with a ping less than 230 on the list and like 300 in game.

I guess I stand corrected. I thought it mentioned something about that on the page where we had to check 10 boxes that said we read the TOS before it let your register your first network card, but I can't find it.
