All right I saw something about this on the net, and strangely I haven't heard anything about it here. I'm downloading it from some German website right now, and was wondering if anyone knows anything about it at all? Is it fake? Is it better than last year's alpha release? Should I stop downloading illegal betas? Let me know, I figured someone would have been talking about it on here if it were real, but I thought it was worth a shot.

It's the same as the alpha with some homebrew bullshit thrown in.

If you have a nvidia card, you'll have to install older drivers to get it to work. It's a lil more than just the alpha, here is the README that came with it.

As of right now, I've been unable to get it to run, but I bet the ATI people can run it without a hitch (seeing as how ID Software is running the latest ATI cards for development). If anyone's interested, i'd be willing to share it out.

i don't think that's true. Doom 3 is going to have the "nVidia: the way it's meant to be played" logo on it. my friend bought a GF FX5950 ultra and it has the "ID software recommended for Doom 3" logo on it.

Heh, that's weird, I could have sworn they were using ATI cards, I mean after all the origional Alpha was leaked by ATI. I dont know, I read an article about it months ago, but they could have changed since then.
