Swift is pretty good if she's still around. Hers is as straightforward a class as you'll get at UMR. She lectures, she collects some homework, she gives quizes, and her quizes and tests are remarkably like homework problems.

If it's required, but you'll never use it, I'd say take it at columbia. Some of the DiffEQ teachers are real bitches and if you get stuck with one and can't transfer, try to take it there when you can. You've got nothing to prove in a class most people dont need, so you might as well do well in it. I took it here and got a B, but make sure you get a decent prof.

If you can't handle DiffEq at this university, then I suggest you drop out and castrate yourself for the benefit of the species. The people who say DiffEq is hard are just pussies who can't handle a little work.

Some people just aren't made for doing lots of higher level math. Not everybody that goes here needs to apply that stuff later in life. What if all you care about is the grade, and not what you retain? I know quite a few competent people in the real world who might not be able to do very well in DiffEQ.

I agree...diffeq is the easiest math class I have taken at this school (started here at calc 2). It is painfully easy and natural (at least at UMR), and anyone who cannot smoke this class should prolly not be an engineer.
