So cool beans, GW now has a million plus subscribers with a surprisingly low Korean sales for an MMO. I was surprised that GW beat WoW to 1 million, just because as a game WoW is far more impressive, as a competative game GW will always be my pick, WoW is geared towards more of the immersive RPG aspects of an mmo, they are both strong in each other's weaknesses. Just interesting, as GW has been out for half as long as WoW, which is about to have its birthday in a couple months. Gw's free online gaming thing has really paid off. As has their awesome patching process of only needing a few minutes to down time, compared to hours and days to fix servers and the likes. They've also stated that the expansion is set to release in the first half of 2006.

Beat WoW to 1 million what? WoW had their announcement at the end of last month about reaching 4 million players worldwide, 1 million of those in North America.

If you don't like the boring aspects of WoW but love the competative aspects, go try GW its rather worth it.

While it is true that WoW has 4+ million subscribers right now, it might be true that GW hit 1 million subscribers faster than WoW. I have no idea how true this might be, but GW did accomplish it pretty quickly (4 months I think)

I thought GWs didn't have a subscription fee? If it doesn't, you can't really compare the two.

Well, she usually does charge for the extras but I get them for free. I'm sorry, did I say that out loud?

Guild Wars has an account system just like WoW, just w/o the monthly bills. So counting would be much the same.
