I still feel, and I'm no expert, that Call of Duty is one of the best team based FPS out there, I feel it has better levels, more solid gameplay, and relys less on reflexs and more on strategy than even CS, making it a well rounded game. Plus, in order to play on a Local network you do not need a CD or even a legit CD key. If its installed, you can play. Patch up to 1.4 and check to see if there are any UMR servers on local, and please feel free to start your own, I have 4 people and growing..........

I love single player call of duty, it's probably one of the most immersive FPS i've played in a while. I haven't tried multiplayer yet though; i'm just finishing the british chapter of the game. I guess I could give it a shot later tonight.

MP of CoD is basically CS based on the Quake3 engine. You want a team based game, hop on a 64 player BF42/DC server and go to town. BF2 will have 100 player servers....now that's a team.

Sounds like there's a growing group of CofD players here on campus. I installed the game after I beat if a few times, but I might reinstall it and start running servers. Maybe if there are more local servers we can get a bigger gathering.

I'd be interested if you guys got some COD games together, but I'd prefer it to be on weekends since if I play games during the week no homework gets done :)

call of duty is one of the greatest games i've ever played. second only to doom3. however, along with doom3, i have no interest in playing it with other people

UNLESS

they included the co-op mode into the game. THAT would be fun. you and another (or two other) players taking on a swarm of nazis. or imps. BUT it's just typical cookie cutter team based deathmatch. boooooooooring

cod is really really great though. i usually hate stupid cinema cutscenes in videogames, but call of duty had the greatest intro to missions EVER. when you are the british guy in the plane that crashes, and you watch as the treeline approaches and seconds later you crash!! or when you are the russian on the boat and you watch all the other boats get smoked with bombs, and then you get in line to get your armaments and what do they give you? a bazooka? a machine gun? nope! 5 rounds of rifle ammunition! hope you have a good throwing arm!

that was a seroiusly great game. who made that again? activisoin? because it was solid. and doom3 rules too
