Even though it's been out for maybe a year, I've finally had a chance to play this game. I'm talking about Postal 2. A well designed FPS that puts the "offensive" material of GTA to shame.

Basic storyline is you going through a weeks worth of tasks for a bitchy female figure in your life (her relation to you, I have yet to see)... things such as cash your paycheck, go vote, get Gary Coleman's signature. But these are far from the normal tasks, and may require a bit of force to resolve.

For example... I go to church for confession. There's a pretty long line outside the confessional, so I just wait (there are certain *ahem* ways to get around that, but I chose not to). When it's my time, I go, confess and step out of the confessional. Cut to cinematic vew of the outside of the church. Preachers standing around, chatting. You hear a loud middle-eastern scream as a terrorist runs up and suicide bombs the hell out of the preachers and nearby van. Cut to another terrorist who starts screaming about jihad and infidels etc. Back to me. The church begins to fill up with terrorists and a firefight begins as the preachers pull out carbines and shotguns. From there, you get to escape using any means neccecary.

The game is blatantly offensive and/or hilarious (depending on your tastes or how pissed off at the world you are). You can run anywhere and do just about anything on foot (cars don't function sadly, but they do blow up nicely). Anything from torch a car, to burglary, to murder, to using a disposable spur-of-the-moment kitten silencer (as in stick the kiten on the end of the gun). Hell, you can even go kill Gary Coleman (signed books sell for more on eBay if the author's dead, ya know).

So if you've got the stomach or just don't care how offensive this game might be, go check it out. I've only found it on torrentreactor.com but I'll see if I can get my computer to share it after I'm finished compressing it.

I enjoyed peeing on myself to put out fires.

actually peeing on others while u were sick was quite fun too, they wind up pucking, and so do the otehrs around them when tehy see em puck, its quite interesting

Personally, I'm pretty fond of how well the gas can works
It's fun to grab as much as you can and torch an entire parking garage level.

I've been told that the way the cat AI is configured, if you set one on fire it will run around to any people on the level and set them on fire.

interesting i'll have to try that. still discovering the neat quirks of this game

Yeah, this game is awesome, played it out a few months back, each new day you go on in the game, the crazier it gets too. The priests and taliban going at it was hillarious, and the hicks chasing everyone around, me and some friends would always make that sound everytime we would pass one in the hall of our highschool.

It puts GTA to shame in many ways, the graphics are way better.

I tested that cat AI thing, doesn't seem to happen, they just run around like crazy in random directions. I guess since there's always people wherever you go, it's bound to run into someone and pass the torch. (Its suprising how long stuff on fire stays alive).

Just beat the game a few min ago. The ending was kinda lackluster, but the cheats that become available make it worth playing through a 2nd time. hehe 999 units of gas, here I come.

it's been out for more than a year, closer to 2 at least, as i played it my freshman year.......(junior now)

that is still by far the best game out there........ and it's really fun to watch the library get set on fire by those christian fundamentalists or whatever they are..........

Actually I was quite suprised at the fact that this game is designed better than many FPS out there at the moment. Apart from the offensive material, the game stands ahead of the crowd with openendedness and exagerated physics like I've never seen before (mmm I wonder if there's any head+shovel=hockey multiplayer games out there). What's even more suprising is the size of team that developed this game... less than a full screen of names.

For some odd reason I'm having trouble hosting the postal 2 game at the moment... I found that there's 1-2 other pplz on Seek with it, or you could just d/l overnight from torrentreactor.com
