how would i go about registering my xbox on the network, im assuming the ethernet address is prolly in a painfully obvious spot, anyone wanna point that out to me?

You have to register the MAC address.

Off host lag kills the competitive fun in Halo.

BUUUUUUUTTTTT..... What's the situation at the Halo house this weekend? Might have to try out your quick fingers at a crazy game I likes to call Beatmania. It's like Pop'n Music, but for your fingers! WHOA!

Pop'n is still better though.

The thing about xbox's is, they dont have their own MAC Addresses. They require you to provide a MAC address that matches your PC's. No PC? Then you're SOL.
What you've got to do is look up the MAC Address of your PC. Instructions to find it are on the xbox live support page

If you have Windows XP, the instructions are slightly different:

Start -> Settings -> Network Connections -> Local Area Connection.

Click the "support" tab.
Click the "Details" button

The MAC Address is labled as Physical Address

Then, on your xbox, go to network settings -> advanced -> MAC Address.

Enter the MAC Address of your computer here and your xbox will be able to connect to xbox live.

note: you dont need to enter the periods.
note: this is assuming PC is registered on Network
