any good RTS out there sides starcraft and CC that NOT part of age of empires series thats worthj checking out?

burnt out on Warcraft as well, and didnt think much of rise of nations, but those other 2 sound sinteresting, and on knnights and merchants i played demo few years ago forogt all about that game, is lords of realm 3 out? i heard it was supposed to have come out recently...

I'm looking forward to Rome: Total War coming out today or tommorow around town here hopefully.

ive heard midevil total war is really fun...

Shogun and Medieval Total war are the shit, I will get Rome TW as soon as I can.

Ground Control is the shit, I haven't gotten my hands on the second one yet.

Homeworld, Homeworld Cataclysm, and Homeworld 2 are fantastic.

Red Alert 2 is pretty cool, its been out awhile I know, but my roomie and I have great times playing each other online.

Stronghold, and Stronghold Crusader are really fun too.

Empires Dawn of the modern world is enjoyable too, and for the record, I like it much better than I like Rise of Nations. I never really got into RON. Empires is fun though.

I think that takes care of the RTS category for me. If I think of any others, I'll let you know.

ground control seems to be commonly liked, i remember seeing previews of it a LONG time ago, didnt car emuch for homeworld, but that was a while back, maybe ill relook into it, is Empires Dawn of the modern world same as Dawn of war?

there was this game i played for about a week, but i cant remember the name. If anyone knows it...

begins with "N" im positive.
suspended islands in space
big emphasis on building bridges to get to resourses that float on islands.
best unit is called a "whirlybird"
oh well, it was a good game until my CD broke.

i know what your tlakign about, shouldnt need a cd to play it i recall donwloading it offf the internet, it was ok but didint really have the depth in strategy i was looking for, real limitations i thought... and multiplayer seemed really unbalanced for higher end players...
