I just set up a pvpgn server for warcraft III. 8)
It will allow people to join and play games, exactly like battle.net.

A legal copy of the game is not required, but Warcraft III is a great game that all should purchase.

To connect do this:

Find the file UMRwar3.exe off of seek

1) Make sure you have Warcraft III: Frozen Throne installed and updated to the latest version.

2) Run UMRwar3.exe

3) Start the game by clicking on the "UMR Warcraft III" icon

4) Make sure the gateway is set for UMR, click on Battle.net, and make an account.

- It is hosted on a 24/7 dual sparc64 box.

Yes you can still get on battle.net after this. It makes a new gateway in called UMR.

The version is 1.17, but w3battle.exe will update it for you if you have an older version.

after joining the east server on bnet i came back and the pvp server gateway was gone :( I guess you have to re-edit the registry everytime you go from bnet to the umr server.

hm, thats probally something blizzard does. Well just reload the reg file and your good to go. You can also put a dos command to import the registry file in the shortcut so it loads automatically everytime.

Shouldn't it be \\esper\share\

I'm either doing something wrong or your box is down, I can't get into \\esper.

Maybe make a simple php server script that tells if anyone is playing or not.

It works for any blizzard game: starcraft, diablo I & II, warcraft II. But you willl have to set up your registry to connect to it for each specific game, so I only official support warcraft III: Frozen Throne.
