Does anybody have a torrent available for the stress test/ open beta client? So far it's available to closed beta testers and I was hoping I could get a jump on the download as it's 2.5 gig.

Apparently the link isn't as protected as they thought it was according to some people on the forums. What's the link to the world_of_warcraft_open_beta_installer_downloader.exe
, as they didnt post the whole URL.

EDIT: Here's the link for all the non beta people. I'm currently downloading too.

I doubt I'll finish it as fast as some of you other people so please start sharing it out when you get it done.

Ok, so am getting it also, and find out that while downloading I am also uploading. What am I uploading?

Blizzard is trying out their own torrent program to relieve stress on their servers. You're uploading the stuff you just downloaded.

It seems that fileplanet sucks and can't deal with all the traffic they're getting from new subscribers since that is the only way you can play the Stress Test. I think I'll just hang onto the client for a week and wait for Open Beta next week.

At this slow-ass speed (only up to 25%) will probably wind up doing the same

I'm off campus most of the time so I can't just go around sucking up the housemate's bandwidth. However I imagine that it's being sucked up anyways since Cecil is in the closed beta. Glad I'm not there right now or I wouldn't be getting shit for bandwidth.

I've gotten it 3 times now I'm still going fine.

Any idea how long the CB lasts?

Ya know, Beasty, you really should ask your roommate who was in the closed beta to get it for you, as he already has the whole thing (well, at time of posting, I'm missing the last 2 MBs), sitting on his server shared out) ;) Sorry to the rest of you, but I'm off campus.

Closed beta is over, this next stress test will probably be similar to the first in lasting 1-2 weeks before moving into open beta.
