There will be a 2v2 Halo 2 Tournament held on Saturday, November 13th. The purpose of the tournament is to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network which is a national charity organization.

The event is being run by myself (Carl Stunkel) and Damian Cardona. The details of the tournament are currently being worked out, but here's what we have so far:

- Location: TBA (on or near Campus)
- Cost: $5 per person in advance, $7 per person at the door
- A Free For All will be held to determine seeding for the 2v2. The FFA will be single elimination and the 2v2 will be double elimination.
- The gametypes are listed on the registration site.
- Those people interested in playing, but unable to find a partner may enter separately. Individual participants will be paired randomly on the day of the event.
- Prize money has yet to be determined, but will increase with the number of participants. There will also be other prizes available (possibly even a new copy of the Halo 2 game).

We have set up a registration site specifically for this event where many of your questions can be answered.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the event, please contact me as soon as possible. If you would like to know more about the rules, regulations or gameplay setup, please see the registration siteor contact Damian.

Thanks!

Carl - csrgd@umr.edu
Damian - dmcvy3@umr.edu

We have... :)
Check the site: http://www.vg-tournaments.com

I think it's a pretty good selection of maps for the # of players in a given game.

Yes, slayer games have a time limit of 10 minutes, which will most likely not be reached, because these games usually go fast, especially in a FFA. CTF is 15 minutes per round, which is more then plenty of time for someone to get at least one flag, and we will use sudden death rules in CTF, so it is possible to go over the time limit until the tie is broken.

It's good to know there's interest in this tournament. So if you're planning on attending we strongly urge you to sign up on our site as soon as possible, so we can get a rough estimate of how many people will show up that day and how much of what supplies to get.

Haha, yeah, I guess you could say that for now. We'll have people coming down from MU and SMS, some of which that have won state tournaments in Halo: CE. Plus, there's still plenty of time for registration left.

Phil you could always sign up to help the cause.. :)

I'm not really that good at Halo to give 10 dollars to lose a tournement.

It's Halo 2... All you have to do is spray to get kills... It's more of a balanced game now, more than a skill based one.

Plus, it's charity and food and drinks... :)

hmmm...i do seem to have a talent of shooting on evryside of a person's head, instead of actually hitting them. I'll think about it.

Please note that the cost of the Tournament has changed. It is now only $5 (if you pre-register on our site) and $7 to register at the event. Also, because of the price change, we will no longer be offering free drinks and snacks. Thanks.

Carl

The site has been updated: http://www.vg-tournaments.com

*** CHANGES ***
> Multiple pages
> Price changes noted

I'm personally currently looking into the snacks and drinks situation, so that we might be able to provide some food and drinks to the players. I can't guarantee anything, but I'm working hard at it.

Also, we are going to try recording the games and making a DVD video of the gameplay, so that you can relive/watch for the first time the tourney. Maybe learn some strategies and learn from mistakes. The DVD will most likely be free.

Once again, sign up online now and your registration fee is onyl $5/player ($10/team)!
