I'm debating about taking BE 110 (Mechanics of Materials) and BE 150 (Dynamics) at the same time along with Diff Eq and English 160 and some major-related courses for a total of 17 hours next semester.
I know quite a few people take BE (now IDE) 110 & 150 at the same time....how is the homework load between the two? I'll have quite a bit of HW and would rather under do it with 15 hours than over do it with 17 and too much.

110's not bad for homework. 30-45 minutes of MecMovie, max, then an hour for problems.

Can't tell you about 150.

eh...it all depends on who is teaching and how much stuff you are doing outside of class...raney is hard for BE110 but you will know your shit by the time you get out. Dynamics...usually have a few nights to do your homework...at least with christiansen....good teacher fairly easy to pass unless you just dont do anything ever. diffy q...with bohner..you get a few days to do homework...dont remember how many...but not to hard. not sure about eng160....

homework shouldnt be too bad...but it all depends on your daily routine and what other stuff you are involved in and how well you understand the courses...its not a bad schedule...but be prepared to spend a ton of time on homework if you get a hard teacher.

It'd be after every class. And yes, regular BE rules apply; there are awesome profs and there are horrible profs, no middle ground whatsoever. Get Kristy Wolfe, Carla Ross, Jeff Thomas, Dr. Flori, or Dr. Philpot. Dr. White's tests are the hardest, but you'll ace the common final. I'd stay away from Dr. Raney. No opinion on the others.

Dr. Christensen is a great prof--for ME 160. Don't know what to tell you for BE 150.

I had Raney for 110...just do the hw-which will take at least 2 hours each class, maybe more depending on the problems and mech movies and you should do fine with him. Never collects homework though, so just do it for your own good. His tests are somewhat hard...my class had averages of around 45-50 on most but I guess I studied more or something bc I'd get high 80's for most of them. At least he curves.

I have Du for dynamics now but it's the Ae/Me160 and he's a pretty good teacher.
