Eng 160
Met 121

Everyone feel free to join in.

For Met 121 you definitely want Miller. Kohser is ok but Miller is much better, and somewhat easier from what I've heard..

...I'll vote for the reverse of everything you just said. Kohser knows his stuff and makes it interesting. He'd be my pick if I had to do it again.

Really, you can't lose with either of them. I had Miller and did just fine. It's not a hard class.

Kohser's great. His lectures are dynamic, he'll answer half the homework problems during the class, and his lectures are online. When he passes out the homework, do it in class instead of taking your own notes. You'll have done the homework, and when you get it back, it'll be better than notes.

For english 160, do I want Doty or Ekstam? Ratemyprofessors.com says Doty is better, but if I take Ekstam, I won't have any classes on Monday and Wednesday. Also, what the hell do you do in English 160?

Take Stat 217 with Akers instead - him being the instructor is worth the extra (if any) difficulty.

Stat 217A Ref No. 72081....Tu/Tr 2-3:15
Stat 217B Ref No. 72984....Tu/Tr 11-12:15

shhhhh...don't tell everybody about Akers teaching it. That'll ruin my chances of getting in

who's a good professor for BE 110/120? There's no info for the class yet, so not sure if there's multiple teachers or not.
also, who's good for macroecon 122?

GRR!! Look down the page. Both these questions have been answered in the past week.

Here, since I'm nice I'll even link you.

Ecn 122: http://r01rma.desktop.umr.edu:8080/phpB ... hp?t=10634
BE 110: http://r01rma.desktop.umr.edu:8080/phpB ... hp?t=10592

Hint: BE classes WS05 = IDE classes FS05. Instead of "Basic Engineering", look up "Interdisciplinary Engineering".

Since none of that talks about BE 120, I'll fill you in: There's no options. You (will most likely) get Jeff Thomas for your lecture. He's also the course coordinator and a VERY cool guy. Snag him for 110 or IDE 150 if you have to take it. The lab is instructed by a GTA and assisted by an UGTA. You'll get these at random and they generally make no difference who you get--though these are the people who will ultimatelyy decide how they run their lab.

if he's teaching it, take ramsey for met121. he is probably the coolest teacher...ever.

as for 160 (tech writing, right?) i took it last semester and had to drop it. i had doty, and i was actually surprised at how the class had so little to do with technical writing. it had a lot more to do with powerpoint presentations, which i am not very good at. give me a writing assignment and i will dominate....!

BUT......... like i said i had to drop tech. writing because of extenuating circumstances. i would like to take it again to remove my WD, so if anyone has had eckerstein for 160 i'd like to hear what kind of assignments there are. because honestly i am a much better writer than i am presenter, and i w*oul dprefer to take a class that is focused on WRITING
