Hey folks, I was thinking it would be great if we could have a forum where we share our XBConnect nicknames so we can play with very little lag and sometimes have a big game with rolla people in it. I'll start it.
Chris Mattlage
aka Christof, DrChristof, Toothpaste Cosby
My XBConnect Nickname is Christof.
I think it would be pretty awsome to get a bunch of us that use XBC to add each other as buddies so we can all play together when ever we are on it.
Please add yours and add me as a buddy on XBC
Can you run xbox connect on a wirelss computer if it is connecting wirelessly to the same router that the xbox is plugged in to? Or, can the Mac xbox connect program(i forget the name) play games against those on xbox connect?

Also take note the 'router' or 'hub' they specify on the drawings, already exists in the dorms. There's a good chance you can just plug an xbox into the wall jack, and then plug your computer into it, and use it that way.
I don't what will happen if two people want to use a dorm floor's router to play xbc at once, however.

That isn't what I want. I am talking having the xbox plug into a router(which is plugged into the wall) and then have a computer with a wireless network card run xbc to set up the routher. So there is no physical cable trail between the xbox and the router. It is basiclly the B setup except insteadd of a wired NIC I have a wireless one.

I doubt the program could tell the difference, but I'd imagine you'd have spikes of dissconnection or low connection rates until all the systems settle out at a flat rate. (i.e. 2-3 mintues)
I'm speaking of experience from a similar program on this.

for the people that dont live in the dorms. and xbc doesn't have much lag especially when we live so close. also, less hassle. I have only one decent size tv, can't host any xbox lans unless people brought xboxes and tvs. why do so much work when xbc is so easy.
if any of you xbconnect users play go ahead and send me an IM.

I think I'm pretty good, usually I do pretty well online against random people.
I have only one working xbox and one tv worth playing on.
You can have multiple xboxes playing through one computer with xbc on it. just have xbc find them. they explain how in detail to do this on the website.
I'm not going to say I'm a god or anything at halo, but I do pretty well. Looks like http://www.halostatsonline.com is down, you could at least have seen my average stats.
Last I checked I averaged 3-1 kill/death ratio on my games, averaged 2.4 killing sprees per game and was in the top 100 snipers back in march. I'm not a sniper whore, not in the least. My style of play is force multipling (sniper, rockets, BR, PP+SMG, Nades+... all except the damn sword... I'll only pick that up to keep others from using it.)
I havn't played in a while, and just started again lately but with allot of lag coming from the 256kbs max upload through fidnet.
Here's my page, and just so everyone knows I don't care about rank. It seems that if you want to play with people of quality you have to have them on your Xbox Community as friends/clans. Playing with players w/ higher rank doesn't mean they're good at halo. Lately I've been playing on several other accounts since my main "worseley" account was saved on a memory card I left home (now relocated on my new box).
I also have a 32" TV, a 21" widescreen HDTV, and access to another 32", 27" and 20" TV's that I own, but don't have in my apartment (but in rolla)
If there's people for LAN games, I'm game. My 32" and 21" widescreen both have theire own surround sound (500+ watts appiece). Plus I own 3 Xbox's and have access to over a dozen more in town. At the moment I only have 7 S-controllers, the rest are at my brothers place.
