So who is better Metallica or Alice and Chains? Me and my housemate got drunk and started to argue it. Now you can finish it.

Where's the option for "both blow"?

Nothing like coming back and having your drunk housemates throw sandles at your "sober ass" and then ask easy questions like Metallica v. AIC. Alice in Chains wins this one, hands down.

Apples and oranges. Besides boybands/other manufactured pop, you really can't compare bands, even if they are in the same catagory.

you cant really compare them, alice in chains is acid rock, metallica is just... yeah. If you want to compare frontmen/guitarists/basists that's fine, but each band as a whole is just too different to conclusively compare.

Irregardless of the "apples and oranges" which one would you pick? I mean if you were cruising around in your 1984 Citation, which only had a radio, and you found two different stations, one playing Metallica, and one playing Alice In Chains then which one would you listen to?

go listen to metalica's best album and then go listen to any Alice In chains Album and tell me for which one you press the Next button for the most. I dont' know any Metalica Albums that I like everysingle song on. But Alice in Chains on the other had only makes high quality shit.

I've always LOVED Alice in Chains, and I've always hated Metallica. Althought I do believe it's entirely up to personal preference, but I definately prefer Alice in Chains.

I know we all have lost respect for Metallica and our impression of them has been distorted by their releases after the Black Album, but they are without a doubt a superior band. They are far better musicians and song writers than Alice in Chains could have ever hoped to be. Every song that Metallica wrote up to and including the Black Album is good. Some are better than others, but all are good. I can't say that about Alice in Chains. Master of Puppets is a masterpiece. Can you say that any of Alice in Chains' albums are a masterpiece? No, you can't, and you know it.

this is exactly why you cant compare 2 bands like that. i'm sorry in_flames but it's all about one's own opinions. In my opinion metallica is a horrible band, and in your opinion AIC isnt masterpiece material.

Neither are that great, but both have their strong points and good songs.

white trash would be country music. And I only like a few songs from aic, but I like all metallica songs. So the choice is easy.

Yeah right, I know way more prepie rich kids that listen to/ go to concerts for country music, then I do people who are actually from rural communities...
