Hey I was wondering if Rolla had anything but country. I was searching and I kept getting commercials and I'm too impatient. I was looking along the lines of rap or 70/80s. If your from StL stations such as 95.5 the beat or 106.5 the arch.
rock out to KMNR 89.7fm. It's UMR's college radio, free format so the songs depend on the dj that hour and i promise you there will be no country. I think our library has like 6 total country albums.

I haven't really listen to the radio since Extreme Radio became Alice. Yay for downloading music...legally, of course. I would never steal music...or kick a baby.

Extreme Radio was the shit. Alice played some good stuff, and whatever the hell it is now just sucks.
92.9 - kkid - classic rock - rolla
98.9 - kflw - classic rock - st. robert
96.7 - kcmq - new & classic rock - st. louis
93.3 - knsx - modern rock - steelville
i think...
96.7 is the best, but you need to have a good tuner.

I usually listen to either 106.1 or 106.9. That is if I go away from my CD Player at all. They're both primarily hip-hop based but the reception of 106.1 depends on where you are at in Rolla and the reception power of your antenna.
You can get 100.1 [The Buzz] out here sometimes, kinda depends on the radio. I don't remember where it comes from [Jeff City or something], but it plays decent music [mostly modern rock, poprock, etc].

100.1 comes out of Columbia. And usually plays heavier stuff than most modern alternative stations (like 93.3X from Steelville and 96.5 in KC). Lots of growling on that station.

96.5 blows. They haven't played anything heavy in the slightest for over a year. They're all punkpop shit now. I haven't really noticed that much heavy stuff on the Buzz, maybe we listen at different times. I wake up to it if I can, and they play stuff like Taproot, the Toadies, occasional things like Green Day or Nickelback, just generic rock music for the most part. I don't usually remember a lot of it, as I am usually asleep at the time, but I like it.

And that's why I like them. *shrug* They play the more indie bands than most stations (other than KMNR here) so I enjoy them when I forget my iPod. Not a big fan of the heavier stuff (although you might not call it 'heavy') so don't listen to 100.1 much (both 100.1 in Columbia and 96.5 in KC are the Buzz... so don't get too confused).
