i have a laptop lcd and the laptop and the cable connecting the lcd to the motherboard is very short for what i need. is this cable extendable or will it mess up the signal. also if it is extendable, can i buy a cable made for this or can anyone make one?

A quick google search shows that there are many brands of laptop which have cables available online, but that they aren't all made to the same specifications (as opposed to say, monitor cables). We'd need a bit more information to find out if there's one for your laptop, though.
