Private torrent community with quotas. Upload as much as you download as minimum requirement. 2x upload is recommended.

Maybe I'm unclear on how torrents actually work, but doesn't the total member's upload have to be equal to the total member's download. So... on average wouldn't member's upload be equal to their download? Thus for everyone who is 2x, then someone has zero upload (or so).

Point out where I'm wrong.

You don't do 1:1 down/up on torrents. Download speed typically far exceeds upload. Private trackers require you maintain a certain ratio to continue downloading from them, so in that case your downloads finish in a few hours, but you have to continue seeding them for a day or two.

Alright, I'll admit I'm fairly ignorant. But I know that dl_speed > upl_speed usually. My point was that, when you view the entire torrent network, the number of bytes downloaded in a given time frame must be equal to the number of bytes uploaded. It's impossible for the dl to upl ratio to be any less than or greater than 1:1 for the entire network. So you can't have a mandatory "Your upload must be greater than your download" because all user's ratios must average to 1:1. For every person that's above 1:1, there must be someone under 1:1 on the network. Unless I'm missing something.
