I'm looking at apartments for next year and am trying to figure out what I can afford. How much do you guys pay for utilities on average? I'd need:
The basics (Water/electric/gas/ect)
Trash pickup (or is that included in most apts?)
Broadband internet (cable or DSL, don't care which)
Cable TV (digital not a necessity, just the 70 channels or whatever we get in TJ). Satellite also works if available and cheaper
I don't need a landline phone since I have a cell phone
Anything obvious that I forgot

I pay $80-100 for utilities ( all electric apartment, water and trash provided),
80 a month for cable TV(not basic, about 70 channels), landline, andcable modem internet.
If you can, I would try to find an all electric apartment. With gas going the way it is, electric is alot cheaper.

Wow, in the winter our gas bills run around $80 or so, and electric/water/trash runs 100-150. Yeah, I know, it is high, even for a house of 4 guys.
Plus, throw in the satellite tv (which I have watched 3 times this school year, and all stuff I could have downloaded), replay tv, and friggin expensive internet (because when we had the half priced internet through sprint it always went out) the monthly expenses per person outside of rent ends up being 100+ each (again, for FOUR people).
Sorry to bump and old thread, but I just signed a lease on one of the A-Frames, and have a couple of questions.
I see Fidelity charging ~$75 for cable/phone/internet, however, my fiancee and I aren't interested in cable, so do they charge full price for phone and internet if bought in conjunction with each other, or do they have a "mini package" for just those two items (I'd like a little discount for both, obviously)?
Also, who do you guys go through for insurance plans, what's the coverage, and how much do they charge?

^^^Yes, but that's per individual, split how many ways? If you get a small house, you can do that.
An outside-Rolla perspective.
I live in a hick town just northeast of Columbia. (Centralia, if you're curious.)
2-bedroom, 1-bath, 730 sq. ft. apartment, with water, sewer and trash provided, runs me $275/mo. Electricity roughly $65/mo wintertime, haven't seen the summer bills yet. Telephone and DSL access runs about $60/mo--the telephone is kind of a waste because I have a cell, but alas, our cable provider doesn't offer cable modem access. If they did, I'd also have cable TV, which by itself is about $30/mo.
Centralia is by NO means a college town, so our housing rates are deflated if anything. It helps.
