ok so yea, ive got a bolt whoes head and main shaft have broken off.. so now all thats left its whats inside the motor..

its almost a clean sheer.. sadly the not so clean doesnt stick out.. its inset.

its a m6 size bolt.. and any help or ideas on how to remove this would be greatly appreciated

I'd try a left-handed bit or an easy-out first.

Get someone you trust who is a good welder...

I'd slot it with a Dremel and then (carefully) back it out with a screwdriver. Granted, it's an M6 so you don't really have a lot of room to work.

If you can and would rather, just drill it out, and tap a bigger hole and make the mods you need to work with it.

sounds like a jap bike. what part are you taking off? M6 on the engine sound like a cover screw of some sort. if so, most of the time the bolt/screw isn't threaded into the cover. you could shear off all the bolts and the cover would pop right off. if it's something besides a cover, do what jeff said. you can get an easy-out set at lowes for about $10. drill a hole into the bolt and hammer an easy-out that fits snuggly into the hole. should come right out.

its one of those gettofabolous motor bikes that youve prolly seen or heard riding around campus.. it gets alot better gas milage then my mini van, so tahts why i use it..

the bolt that sheered off are the ones for the rear mounting braket that holds it to the bike frame...

ill look into the easy out thing from lows.. unless someone wants to give it a try some other way... and reboaring with a bigger bit size isnt a preferable option but doable if neccesary.

Same thing happened to my manifold studs here in Rolla. I have an easy out and have taken 4 or 5 studs out so I'm pretty good at it. Let me know if I can help you this weekend.

if you have to bore it out bigger, you can helicoil it back down to the same size. They're not real cheap, but they're a last resort and you should be able to find them at an auto part or hardware store. Also, if you're drilling a steel bolt in an aluminum case, the bit may want to wander because the aluminum is softer, so be really careful to start the drill as close to the center of the bolt as possible.

aight, I've been doing way to much rockclimbing recently. Because I assumed you were talking about a bolt in a rock face, and I was like "Why would you wan't to remove that thing, it's keeping you alive!"
