I thought the first group was "tolerable" but the second sucked big time. My fiance drug me throught the picture booth a bunch of times, and then bet me that I couldn't drag my fat ass throught the spelio trailer... I did, but I sure as hell wouldn't try it again. Oh and if there are any dudes wanting that go to prison, the place was swarming wih girls... I didn't go last year, but was pretty impressed, got a free T-shirt, kicked my fiances ass at the q-tip thing and at the springy strap thing....

I went, and enjoyed myself. I especially enjoyed the fireworks, but that might have had something to do with the fact that I was working on the pyrotechnics crew, and also the liaison between the people running Block Party and the people running the fireworks.

Was there any sort of notice that the cars in the parking lot being used to set off fireworks would be moved? I had a field trip that morning, and everyone parked in that lot, and there were no signs. Well, I had a ride and didn't park there. When we got back around 8, all the cars had been moved to the north side of the lot, and the entrance was blocked off.
Some of the people were pretty pissed about it.
It seems UMR and Rolla have a poor record with these kind of things...I think I read about someone's car getting painted when they weren't informed about the parade.

They said something over the loudspeaker midway through the afternoon, like "everybody who is parked in X lot needs to move your car or it will be towed" kind of thing.

Are we dancing all alone?

Then I guess they need to realize since it's a UMR lot, UMR students and professors occasionally park in it. Not just Block Partygoers. Or just get their shit together sooner.
Last night was the first time I had really seen/heard Ludo and I was impressed. Pretty good musical talent (they didn't suck in concert) and the music was fun to listen to, although not my normal style. I agree though on the whole high school / middle school girl thing, lots of jailbait there...

Yeah, that was a fuckup on the part of UMR parking. They told us Wednesday that the front row of that lot would be cleared and blocked off by 7am Saturday. It obviously wasn't, so any complaints need to be directed to Christina Wilson (fleck@umr.edu), head of parking lot operations, as she was the one who said the lot would be blocked off when it wasn't.

i was hanging out with my friends that are CSOs and they said they were running plates and making attempts to contact owners, so at least there was an attempt before they moved them
