So I'm looking at buying a laptop and wanted to get everyone's opionion on the Toshiba brand. Has anyone had really bad experiences (are they knwon for common problems 2 days after t3h warranty expires? Anyone have any other suggestions? The exact model I'm looking at is the Satellite P105-S921

Pretty much what I'm looking for is
1.83+ ghz core duo
17" screen
120+ gig HDD
I'm pretty flexible on just about everything else, but the above is bare minimum.

If anyone else has ideas on other Makes/Models please lmk

i had 3 satellites before the one i have now with no problems at all.
but...
this one(5205-s705) has been horrible. the first couple times i got decent service, but the last 3, 4 or 5 times has been unacceptable. as a matter of fact, it's in again right now for repair.
i bought it (2.5 years ago) because it was one of the first with a dvd burner. it has an super-excellent screen, p4 (not p4m) processor & tv tuner. it would still be a nice machine, but it hasn't compensated for the problems.

i have 2 friends with Tlaptops, and they have had problems, too. not as much as me, but barely cost-validated.

i will not be buying another one.
that's my opinion.
