I have some old burnt in monitors, a dell server motherboard that isn't worth anything to me, and some other odds and ends. I was thinking about just throwing it away, but I know that computer hardware is pretty toxic, and I'd rather dispose of it properly. Does anyone know of a place, either in Rolla, or St. Louis that recycles worthless computer stuff?
Well if anyone does want to blow them up, burn them, throw them off TJ, etc. I'd be fine with that, I just want them out of my house. They are burnt in but would be usable as a backup or something.

Brewer Science sponsors an old-hardware disposal day once a year. They'll take old boxes and components for free and charge $5 to properly dispose of CRTs.
I think their event usually happens in the fall. They've put up notices in the Computer Science building for the past two years at least. It's up to you if you'd want to hold on to your stuff for that long, though.

Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye out for that. I don't have much else to do this summer, so I'm trying to get rid of all the crap I don't need... the stuff I've been stockpiling the last few semesters, but I can wait.
