Officially known as Twin XL, the dimentions of the mattresses are about 3'3"x6'6". As for height, you definatly won't need the deep-pocket fitted sheets.
-perminantly burned into my brain because my mom worked for a mattress R&D company for 10 years.

Twin XL. I'd recommend some extra thick sheets. The dorm beds are badly stainded....either shit, piss, splooge, vomit, or a combination of all.
heh, because college students drink and then fall into bed where they proceed to shit, piss, splooge, vomit, and/or occasionally bleed.

I will say that with a egg-crate foam mattress pad, the TJ beds (in the north tower, anyway) are suprisingly comfortable. Besides them being so narrow, I actually miss them, since they were more comfortable than my current mattress. Living off campus is still better though.
If you like a stiff matress and will be living in the north tower, bring a sheet of plywood or something to put under you matress because the middles sag a lot. I used my closet door, but it isn't wide enough, and I slightly damaged it by the end of the year (I only weigh 135 so no fat jokes).
i just got in the mail a thing for the only "rolla-guarenteed" sheets, i didnt even look at the pricing on them but you might see if you have it in the mail or its might be coming soon.

I had that mailing before I moved in freshman year. I'd stay clear of those sheets. The all the parts pilled like hell, and they were really thin, I acidentally ripped one as I was rolling around one night. Better off going some place like wal-mart or target and picking up some sheets. They aren't as uncommon as people think they are, espically in June, Aug, Sep.
I had no problem finding twin XL sheets at Target. They keep them with the rest of the dorm crap they sell during the summer. They fit my bed just fine. Probably cheaper too. I think they get them in either June or beginning of July. I worked there in high school and past summers but can't remember when they came in.
And I'm going to officially quit Target sometime next week, I just need to use my discount one last time tomorrow

You laugh now, but I certainly wasn't when I saw my matress at the start of school last fall. I'd say shit, piss, splooge, vomit, and blood is about right.
