I used to just cut mp3s (using Audacity) and transfer to my phone via usb cable (Motorola Moblie Phone Tools). My new phone has bluetooth, so I just transfer ringtones/backgrounds that way.

Not sure if my PC has any bluetooth atm. I recently switched to Ubuntu, still getting used to it. I just wondered if it was possible, as the ones I downloaded were all in .mp3 format.

Are we dancing all alone?
Since you have Verizon, you need a USB data cable. Verizon locks down Bluetooth on their phones so it can only be used with headsets, they want you to pay for ringtones

I have the samsung a950 and just use a transflash card that I got with it to transfer ringtones.

I suppose that works. But I know Bluetooth is definitely blocked. Which really sucks, because that's whats stopping me from switching to Verizon when my contract with Suckgular is up in December. Too bad Verizon wasn't GSM, I would then consider them, since I have an unlocked Sony w810i I could use. T-Mobile it is then.

I agree, I have searched all over for a way to unlock bluetooth with verizon, but it just isn't possible. Sucks for sure. The only reason I went with them, is becuase I joined my parents family plan, so I pay them, and save a boatload of money.
