I'm taking a class at Meramec here in STL this summer. Someone who sits next to me told me that, credits that are transferred in to universities such as UMR, don't count towards your GPA. Basically, a C or above means you passed, and it shows on your transcript that you passed and counts as a credit towards your degree, and if you get below a C, you fail. So whether or not I get a C, B, or an A in this class doesn't matter. Before I completely blow off the last 2 lectures and don't study for the final, is this true? I have an A in there right now and could keep that A until the end, or I can not give a shit about the rest of the class and still get a B. Thanks.

If you rely on seek42 for GPA advice, and would let your grade drop from an A to a C because some random person on the internet says it is okay, then you deserve what you get.

Sorry man, but call the registrar's office instead.

Not true. I've transferred in credit from 2 different institutions (one a community college, the other was SMS). Both counted toward my GPA.

Also, I'm taking abnormal psych online through Meramec right now. By far the biggest waste of $300 ever. Not only is the professor a dick in his grading and how he runs the class, but the syllabus is wrong on nearly everything, and he has zero actual teaching to do. It is helping me graduate in 4 years though...

I'm taking classes through meramac this summer(econ and poly sci), I heard a whole bunch of people from mizzou saying that it doesn't transfer into your GPA, so I called the registrar to ask, they said it DOES transfer into your GPA. I also emailed them later to confirm which I can forward to you if you want.

I transferred in 22 hours of credits my freshman year....a couple of them didn't count toward my GPA for whatever reason, but the rest have been helping me slack off because they were all A. And then I found $5

Might not help much, but credits transferred within the UM-System (Read: UMR, UMSL, UMKC, Mizzou) will count towards your GPA. Might as well give a shit and stick it out IMHO.

They will go to your cumulative GPA, not your UMR GPA. At least that's the way it was as of last year when I graduated.
