I gotta feed my new addiction when I come back to Rolla, who would have ever thought that my fat ass (Well 70lbs smaller fat ass) would become a runner.
Thus being said, are there any good parks that have trails in them to run on?
I guess its either that or run the streets of Rolla...oh boy!

For a 2-mile loop, park your car at either the Multi or the gravel parking lot for the football field, and run up towards the hospital, follow the road to the left, take another left at Fairground Chevy and follow Kingshighway down to 63, go left again, and then another left at the multi for the 2-mile loop. It is a decent place to run, but I recently stopped after almost getting hit too many times (I had to jump out of the way of a van backing out of the Maid Rite), and you inhale a lot of exhaust while running along Kingshighway.
My new route is 4 miles, starts at Beech Street, goes to 6th, then to Salem Ave, then to Soest, then follows Forum to 10th Street, and then back to Beech Street via. State Street. I've also extended it to 6 miles by running down Rolla Street to Winchester, and then to O highway, and back to forum, but I can't yet run the entire thing (I'll probably be able to by the end of the week though).

Lions Club has a nice trail to bike/ run on i think its something like 4-6 miles. look up route66bicycles.com for a map and other mtb/ running trails if you are extremely hardcore
Behind my apt, I'll show you sometime.
Edit: No, that is not a sexual innuendo.

there is a little nature park in Rolla. Do you know where the "Campus Support Facility" is, with the UMR police department? It's across I-44, take the road that isn't closed across the interstate, then turn right and you'll go past some frats, and an old folks home. It's less than a mile down on your right, it's easy to miss. It's a small road, with some houses but if you go past the houses, it's there.

If you go to far you also hit the bad part of Rolla. THe trailer trash park. Only venture there if you are brave or if you are looking for car parts to various old cars.

Isn't all of Rolla pretty much just a bunch of trailer trash?

Most of Rolla is pretty nice. If you left your dorm room (you'd have to put on pants to do that) and actually used businesses in Rolla, you would have an inkling.
Half of Rolla is actually very nice. Just like any town, there are good parts and bad parts. Unlike the big cities like St. Louis, Kansas City, etc. there is a significant amount of nice property. Unless you're very rich, you can't afford a house half as nice as what you can get in Rolla. St. Louis is full of $150,000 run-down shacks on postage stamp sized lots. At least in Rolla, that amount of money would get you a pretty decent house with a yard and neighbors who are less likely to steal the wheels off your car.
