Anyone know why it's going down this way this semester?...not that I'm complaining. I mean, I liked the story behind the stuco free day, but I'd much rather have the 5 days off for thanksgiving and have more of the same time off as all of my friends back home.

Hmm...interesting. At least this way, we end up with more net time off.

It would make travelling out of town infinitely easier, I'm all for it.

When was STUCO free day?

Mid-October-ish if I remember right.

I think it was the first Friday of October.

I believe it is to bring UMR's schedule inline with the rest of the UM system.

Been talked about for years. Glad it is finally happening. Now we don't have to discuss it this year.

I talked to someone who said that STUCO free day was moved this year to the monday of thanksgiving week as a way to force the university's hand into giving us a full week off. If it's true, good work to those manipulative people...if not, thanks anyways UMR.

they would probably just make us have class on tuesday. and i have to admit, it would be kinda funny.

They could have class on Tuesday, but they couldn't force us to go

You know the math department would decide to have tests on that Tuesday if we didnt have class Monday.

Yeah, the whole point was to move the STUCO day to a monday and then get the whole week off. That has been the theory for a while.
