A bit of an interesting story, though short.

As three of my freshmen and I were going to my car to go to walmart, a blue older pick-up drove by on 63 (right outside of TJ) and the passenger chucked a full, un-opened beer can at us (they were going about 45-ish). Luckily we were spread out enough that it went between us and not even phasing any of us until we realized what had happened.

I have no idea if they were frat guys, townies, or what, but it pissed a few of them (the others in my group) off a bit.

Does this happen more than I think, cuz I'm typically not around when things like this happen for some reason.

I'm with dash on this one. They were kindly offering you a beer, yet they were in a hurry to get somewhere. I think it is quite rude of you for not thanking the guy for the offer.

The first time I was ever in Rolla, I was at a summer camp, and some friends and I walked from TJ to the bowling alley. Anyway, when we were coming back at night someone on Kingshighway through a mostly empty class bottle of beer at us. He failed miserably and shorted it by 6 feet or so, but the glass shards almost got us.

It has been over 2 years since then and I have never had another inccident. I really don't worry about it at all.

There's not a whole lot to do here for the townies, aside from go somewhere, drink, and drive around... so you're bound to run into stuff like this. just shrug it off, pop the top and enjoy it.

Oh, my bad. I should have been more specific. This really didn't even effect me in the least. Like everyone said, shit happens. I was just wondering if this was going on a lot or not.

Plus, for the freshmen's sake, it was their first day here and since we're actually trying to give them a great first experience, this was a bit of an annoyance.

I agree: they were just tossing you a beer. You should have quit being paranoid, picked it up and drank it.

Except that would have instantly gotten him fired if his residents decided to talk about it to other people and it got around. Ok....so maybe not instant.

you should probably track the gentlemen down and thank them for the beer. perhaps a nice quarter or two, scratched up the hood and along the sides of their truck.

im pledging to a fraternity right now and i havent even heard any down talk on other frats much less the dorms, if it was a frat it was just one of those sets of douchebag guys, well nonetheless it was a douchebag no matter what

you dont have to say your pledging in all your posts, it shows your locale is sig nu. Enjoy it....
