Hi,
My suitemates and I are having problems with our phones. They're all plugged in correctly, but have no dial tone. I rechecked the phone, cords, and even pushed 3, which I think is what you need to dial out, but there was still no tone. We told our RA and the front desk, but it's taking a while to get a response. I'll probably end up contacting IT, but was wondering if anyone had suggestions or similar problems because I don't remember having to do anything special last year to get them to work. Thanks.
My suitemates' phones are having the same problem, plus everyhing else works fine on my phone... i'm thinking it might be a technical problem with our jacks or the system, but my ethernet is working fine, so i'm really not sure.

The VoIP system terminates in the network closet, and operates regular copper from there to the room. It will be interesting to see what happens.
