Find a machine that can print to the printer you want to print to and print a test page. The test page should have the printer address and queue name on it, as well as the printer type (for driver selection).

some of the network printers on campus are tcp/ip, and some are lpr. i don't remember which one tj is, but the id's are

They should all be setup for LPR, which is the preferred method of printing. If you know the printer's IP, there should be no reason why you can't print to the printer directly. I could never get the color printers in EE to print from my computer.
