I came from Formula car DE at Lowe's just a bit ago and saw some cops with a pulled over car in a parking lot with people in cuffs on the gorund and all the doors and the trunk open. This was down 63 towards 44, in between 44 and TJ. Just a block down there is that really shit looking Motel with the green sign and there was people waving their arms for a cop behind me to stop there. They looked really frantic.
This was exactly 2:52AM, according to my car's clock. Just afterwards I passed a Univ. cop heading that way on 63 and then after I pulled into the RC parking lot another university cop came hauling ass down univ. drive. He had his lights on but no sirens and blazed right through the stoplight by Havener without slowing all that much, and his was the red light.
Anyone know whats going on? I think I saw at least two people on the gound in cuffs, maybe more. And I think whatever was going on at the motel was related.
Too bad I didn't have a video camera I coulda stopped and acted like I was filming on episode of C.O.P.S.
FILMED ON LOCATATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MEN AND WOMEN OF LAW ENFORMENT! w00T! (all subjects are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law)
Probably a broken taillight or something. It gives the cops a chance to act like the tv show COPS. The cops in this town love nothing more than some minor excuse to swarm like locust and igore traffic rules. I saw a person get pulled over for a broken taillight and within another minute or two a second cop was there (I was at a stoplight).
I live very close to the 63 and Kingshighway intersection, and seem cops turn their lights on just to drive through the intersection illegially, then turn them off once they get to the other side. Pretty much using their lights to avoid having to stop at a red light, when they aren't in a hurry.
I've watched COPS enough to know that when they have a call for domestic violence, they usually don't speed there with their lights on. I can see them not wanting to sit at a light forever, though, and flash their way through it.
Frankly, even if they abuse some of their power I don't mind. They do have to put their life on the line and they don't get paid all that well.

But they should NOT be putting our lives on the line for the fun of it. If they are going to run a light, They should have their lights AND siren on for atleast 250 or more yards. What happens when they slam into a citizen? Oh right, that person should have known where that there was going to be a douche flying through the intersection.... hope you have full coverage.

I can't find the story online, but something like that actually happened awhile back in the KC area. I recall seeing it on the news.
Because they have nothing better to do. Oh, and I'm sure you've had one of the Uni Po brag that they have a state, county, and city commision. Whatever the fuck that means.

Friday I pulled into the McNutt parking lot and the Explorer and the Crown Vic (maybe, I am not certain) UMPD vehicles were pulled along side each other, so I park at the meter put in my money and run into the buidling to do my bidness, and about 10 minutes later I come back and the Explore is still sitting there in the shade. I am not sure what he was doing, but I put a quarter in the guy parked beside me's meter just to be on the safe side....

does anybody know what happened? Why ould Univ. cops be going to something like that off campus?
Probably because they have tasers and the Rolla cops don't. Some guy gets hopped up on meth and becomes superman on a rampage. Of course, you can't shoot people going on dangerous rampages because they're unarmed and you would get sued like crazy. Of course Rolla cops don't have tasers because of liability, so they call the only people in town who do, the UMR cops. Happens pretty frequently around this town. Just last week actually when a woman was holding her kid with a knife.

hope the cop didn't see you dong that - if he wants he can be a dick and give you a citation for doing that. mostly they dont, but sometimes... its like jaywalking.

Yeah, I've seen them do that before. Apparently, they have nothing better to do than sit and wait for meters to run out. I've come back to my car with a couple minutes on the meter and saw the rent-a-cops waiting for it to expire.

Twice I've returned to my vehicle to find a ticket made out the very minute after the meter expired.
