So, general tips? I'm at 295, which is down 15 pounds from when I started about, oh, a month and a half, two months ago. I've been exercising and eating right. Any other suggestions?

Run. Don't eat fast food. Don't eat junk food. If you are hungary, and need a snack, eat baby carrots. Lots of baby carrots...they fill you up and it takes more energy to burn them then they possess.
Almost negative 50 pounds here, but I'm getting too thin, I need to lift some weights.

Thanks a lot Rayl
The key to losing weight is all diet and exercise. You want to lose weight in a healthy way, not just by starving yourself.
That's what I'm trying to do. I'm eating several small meals/snacks during the course of the day and combining that with extensive walking and general exercise. It's working thus far, as far as I can tell. I've averaged roughly 2 pounds a week in loss. Already I can looking at myself in the mirror that I've lost weight. I'm also trying to document every 10 pounds with pictures. We'll see how it pans out. I've also signed up for the weight lifting class next semester so I can learn the various exercises and whatnot.
Foofoodar, thanks for the link. I was on those forums all last night.
WOW! That's awesome....I can't even recognize you in the second picture I only knew you in the first. Big congrats from here. How long did it take you overall?
You know that's such a difference that if you used any kind of machine or something, even once they would probably put you on T.V. or something because that is one BIG change. Again Congrats. man

Damn, Aaron. I wouldn't recognize you in that second picture if I hadn't seen the connecting stages. I'm better than I was a few years ago as well, but it's no where near the change you've seen. I know what forum I'll be reading tonight...

Actually I used the Total Gym when I started, and lost about 40-50lbs, after that I started using free weights because the Total Gym didn't feel like it was cutting it anymore, but now that I haven't worked those exact muscle groups in a while I could probably go back to it...
I started this diet on Jan 3rd 2006, by the end of this summer is when I looked like the second picture, I started weighing in at 264, I am sitting around 190 now, the first pic above is back a few years when I weighed around 300lbs though...

I lost 75 pounds or so back in highschool, it's really not that hard once you get started. 30 minutes of cardio a day, drinking plenty of water, and healthy eating works like a charm. I always tried brushing my teeth a lot to curb my appetite when I was starting out.
Just don't try to pull some "I exercise so I can eat whatever I want" stuff, and you'll be fine. It's 50% diet, 50% excercise..
