Is the power back up on campus yet? If not, any guesses on when it will be?

UMR crews must install new fuses in the transformer before power can be restored. Those fuses will be shipped from the Chicago area today and are not expected to arrive before tonight. Therefore, power may not be restored until Tuesday morning.

Hopefully it will still be out tomorrow

Hey, who are you to actually read the emails that UMR sends out? C'mon, you overachiever, you.

I work for IT, I had like 10 emails on the outage even before they sent out the emails to students. And since I read IT emails since they concern my job, I read this one

Try using putty to connect to a couple of the computers in the CS building. If none of them work, the power's still out.

Anyone happen to know why Multi was closed down (and dark) despite the numerous reports that power was not out there?

Were the lights on at some point tonight? Not a good sign, probably means that they're going to get it back on soon.

Although, during the big STL power outage over the summer, I was at a friends house on a Saturday and he had no power for the past couple days. While we there there, the power came on for a few minutes, then went back out and didn't come back until Wednesday.

The fuses aren't going to turn the power back on. They're completely rewiring their setup so that the 4175 kVA transformer is providing power. Granted, this is only temporary. When I interviewed the Physical Facilities director, he said that the fuses were only to start testing the 7500 kVA transformer again. Not to reconnect it back to the main system. They brought in a contractor today to do all the rewiring.

Did they give you any estimates as to when power will be back?

Yeah, and same goes for havener, I saw both on, and then go off again. They were both on for only a short period of time, both at seperate times.
