So I'm thinking about taking this to get my minor in math. Any suggestions/comments? I think I'd rather take discrete math, but that's not working out with my schedule. Should I even bother?

Probably not, but I would need to take the additional math class this summer, and par diff eq is the only one offered that would count.

Im taking pde with Bohner right now, she cant teach for shit, the book sucks, but she doesnt make the class overly difficult.

I've heard that PDE is pretty easy to pass. Of course, my source is a Chinese grad student...your mileage may vary.

Don't forget Stat 343. While not by any means easy, it's not the violent raping that PDE is. Not to mention considerably more useful in real life.

Protip: If you're looking at an engineering grad school program here, you're going to need a 300-level math class. If you take it as an undergrad, you can most likely waive the requirement in grad school. It's easier to pass PDE as an undergrad than as a grad student because there are 2 different grading scales. For instance, there is a certain score range where undergrad students get B's and grad students get C's for the same test score. Also, Dr. Grow makes it impossible to fail PDE if you're an undergrad because the lowest grade is a D as long as you stay in the class.

Long story short, if you're going to get a master's here, take PDE as an undergrad.

Int Diff Eq 302 has a bunch of Nuc Engineers in it, and Dr. Clark doesn't do too bad. I would much rather take it than pde. I thought 305,modern algebra or abstract algebra, was good, but it's more abstract than anything before if abstraction is a problem. Combinatorics 307's great. Again, a bunch of nonmath majors (comp scis), and she's not too hard. Complex Variables 351 is pretty nice, but can be a lot of work(not as much as pde) depending on who you get. Do special topics classes like 301 work? They're usually okay.
