Ok, I want to make a really simple program that all it does is click the mouse 1 about every 5 minutes. Does anyone know how to do this? It will also need to be in the background while doing this, so that the mouse click would effect a different program.

ive used this program before, it basically records a set of commands of even mouse movements and them just plays the over how ever many time you specify.

Well, that looked like it might have worked, except for the fact that the game I was playing considered it a hack and closed the program :(

AutoIt has worked well for most things I do.

Well, I was playing an online game where I have to train my skills by casting them over and over. I can prop down a key to cast them, by I need to click on a button to meditate when I run out of energy. I was wanting to fully automate the process.

Yeah I could see why it's considered a cheat.

sounds like the grey area of cheating. although, it would be cool to make a mechanical device that would physically click your mouse every 5 minutes, though i guess it could be easier to find a broken mouse, and create a circuit to close a switch every 5 minutes and have the switch 'click' the mouse.

frakiem's got the right idea, while the mechanical device would be cool (could even be as simple as those little birds that drink water... you know what I'm talking about) the easiest way would be the broken mouse/circuit method. if you do it that way though, you should try to make switch click the mouse at a random time between 4-6 or 7 min. Not sure what game your playing, but if one of the admins thinks your cheating, and watches you for 10-15 min, they're probably going to know your cheating. *shrug* good luck mate.

Well, I tried the MacroExpress, and while the game doesn't catch it, it also doesn't effect the game in any way. The AutoIt looked more like a code writing program, so I didn't know how to use it.

As for the clock thing, I have actually already thought aobut doing that. I was just hoping for a solution simpler than hard wiring a mouse onto a clock.

At first I was thinking it would be easier to use a serial mouse as opposed to a ps2 or usb, but after I posted that I think it may be easier to use an old USB mouse, because you will have a powerline available, I'm not sure how much power is available via serial and ps2 to wire a clock in with a relay.

Code:
   SetCursorPos(x, y);
   mouse_event(MOUSEEVENTF_LEFTDOWN | MOUSEEVENTF_LEFTUP, x, y, 0, 0);

clicks at x, y in pixels on screen in c++, at least in windows, and does not require additional libraries (at least from VS .NET standard mfc application, and yes, i know VS blows)

EDIT: removed unneccesary code used later for testing pixel color

Way to revive old threads with pointless comments.
