I softmodded my xbox this summer and then I got the hd component cable dongle for the xbox. But apparently I need to get to the original dashboard to enable an option that turns on the hd capabilities/dongle detection...

I've got xbmc loaded on it right now. I found an option to enable 720p in the exploit/boot loader that I used. but, I'm unsure if it's getting applied when xbmc loads or if I just can't find the option to set 720p in xbmc..

anybody have a similar issue?

yes, you can still get to the original dash, what exploit did you use?

let me go look at mine, i think the newer xbmc t3ch releases had an option for this. I just updated to rev9999

a splinter cell game save exploit.. i'll have to check w/ a friend for more details

well most newer softmods create a ghost c drive so there is always the stock c drive

yeah.. I created a "MS Backup" which I assumed if I applied would reverse the softmod.. I'm kinda wanting to do that as a last resort... Trying more so to find a way to get to the dashboard temporarily

update your xbmc, if you go to settings->system->video hardware you can choose widescreen, letterbox, or normal. If you have the component set plugged in you can choose 480p, 720p, or 1080i

You can go back to the dashboard by going to shutdown in the lower left hand corner and clicking on it. When you’re there you can scroll up while highlighting the shutdown icon and it should say exit to dashboard.

He's running XBMC as the dashboard, if that's what you meant. So exiting to dashboard shouldn't do much.

At the moment, he's running the 2.0.1 XBMC point release from November.

should have the option, and depending on what softmod you used you can still exit to MS dash and use the IGR to go back to xbmc

yeah, I tried going back to the MS dashboard and it just hung at a black screen. I'll try updating

I'm running a 5/07 build right now and you can exit to the original MS dashboard by doing what I said. Unfortunately I cant go back and double check the steps because last night I installed a bad build and now I cant even FTP back in.

I'll download the latest code and rebuild XBMC tonight... if anyone on campus wants it let me know and I'll make it available.
