Not sure how long this has been up, but Microsoft has a new touch-screen setup out now.

http://www.microsoft.com/surface

I know a while back there was a thread with a link to a video of this technology being shown at some conference, but now it seems M$ owns it. Not sure if the people that developed it and were shown in that video were with them from the start, or were just working on something similar.

I bet the BSoDs will look very pretty on that fancy screen.

Two years ago I was in New York at the time warner building and they had something better. It was a pool table size version of this and they had a motion camera overhead looking directly down at it. You would put your hands out in front of you and you could manipulate the screen. My hands were probably a foot or two above the screen. To select something I would tap my hand in the air.

They announced this a while ago. This thing is beautiful and could revolutionize computing in the commercial realm. I want one immediately.

looks pretty sweet.. especially the part about like menus at restaurants and the way they split up the menu items and everything

although that interface could be annoying for some things I would imagine

I'm sure that could be customized to fit the location (the device will sure be expensive enough).
