For those of you who have been around the block a few times on seek42, you may remember this. For the rest of you, here are a few thread(s) from years gone by that were incredibly funny.

StupidPoppa(.jpg)
Just a twat that couldn't handle a joke, and became a pussy in the end. From early 2004.

I'll post more as I remember and find them.

what about the great counter-strike tournament scandal way back when?
or the threads about neo?
I'm sure there's something in there about the great assassians fiasco when people started getting dragged out of their rooms and shot with airsoft guns.

Ah, archives...something to do on a snowy April Sunday afternoon. Sigh.

Here's a bunch of "class of 07's" bitching about how hard BE20 is. ShadowCat, you're in there.. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6118

Me too, I still got the procrastination thing. I think I'm going to end up doing half-time next semester so I can work, my bills are starting to catch up with me. And cause I'm getting burnt out, much like a clutch that's starting to fail.

To contribute: This looks promising, haven't read through it but some dude wants to bone his relative. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=5957
edit2: yeah, thread delivers.

GMF has actually made it to UMR Legends. Such fame is shared with the likes of Zeus, Ryan, and others.

But this thread is not about legends, it is about hilarious threads!

CONTINUE!

Allright here's one of the true classics:
Possibly the first true debate on the Seek forums:

The Infamous Gay Chalk Thread

The Follow up 2 years later

Delta Lambda Phi founded, My how we've changed.

These threads make me sad because it reminds me of all the cool people who used to be on Seek that made it well worth posting/reading. Whatever happened to midgey, anyways? Who was he, for that matter?

While alot of the cool people left, there are still plenty of cool people around. However, back then the biggest source of new users were people who came to the search page every day, and eventually clicked on the forums link. However, since the death of the search engine, there has been no reason for new people to come around. Since Berto and Chank took the Seek reigns, they can finally advertise the site in different ways (IE Stickers) since there's nothing illegal about the site anymore, and bring in new users. As for old users? This is a UMR website, whose target audience is current students, so 90% the new people we bring in are here for 4 years, tops, and like any other organization, we have to have a way to fill these empty slots and bring in new folks.

As an older guy (esp. one with 2000+ posts), you should really be trying to help this new generation by showing them the highlights of the seek forums in their heyday and welcoming new users, instead of shitting on the efforts of those who actually care about the site, and are trying to revive it.
