So, my roommate's girlfriend is coming to visit, and we seem to be stuck at an impasse. We have a couch, so i'm not being put out of house and home or anything.

Ask him, he's your roommate. If he's really classy he'll put you up in the Sooter Inn for $20. But whatever you do, your bed's off limits.
Lol, they wouldn't do anything on my bed. And we have a nice couch in our living room, so like I said - I'm fine sleeping out there. She doesn't want to put me out is all.

For my sophmore year, my roommate and I had an understanding about girls. The second you see the "gtfo" look, by man law, you must "gtfo". Worked great for me everytime, but unfortunately the one night he used the look, he effectively cock-blocked himself b/c the girl that was with him got upset because I went into the lounge w/ a blanket and pillow.
The moral to the story is this: He needs some alone time with his lady (unless you like having him pr0n it up 24/7), you being the respectful and considerate roommate you are understands this. If it doesn't bother her for you to be sleeping on the couch, then by man law I suggest bringing a blanket, pillows, and your xbox to camp it out on the couch for the night/weekend/etc.
Edit: P.S. who's the fsckin weirdo who voted to sleep in the same room? >.<

You're off campus but live in the same room? That kinda blows.

In the dorms I slept in many another room my freshman year. Then my sophmore year things kindof switched and I kicked him out a few times...no hard feelings though, you got to do what you got to do.

Yeah.. you're probably going to be saving your ears by moving to the couch. The only way you should not have to worry about moving is if they're "saving" themselves for marriage.

Just sleep in your bed. It's your room.
However, to be nice, be sure to be out of the place for at least a few hours while they're alone. (Go eat or do some homework in a CLC or something).
Give your roommate a heads up that you'll be out for at least a few hours. Make a lot of noise when you come back.
This is the standard operating procedure when it comes to this sort of thing. If your roommate wants you to to sleep on the couch, it requires he at least buy you some Taco Bell.

I would probably give them a bit of room. Of course if you actually stop and think about it, it really is his problem. All you're doing is living your normal life and he's expecting you to make room for something that inclusive to his life but has nothing to do with yours.

back in the dorms i would just spend the entire weekend in other rooms. If i saw they had left, i would go in and grab shit or whatever, but for the most part i didnt need in my room on the weekends.
though one time i did happen to misplace my key right by the door, and some floor mates found it and kinda ruined the moment.
