According to Wiki, plasma speakers exist, so that does give it a little credibility.

there are videos all over youtube of people building them out of almost anything that creates sparks. From Tesla Coils to Jacob's Ladders. I think it is possible.

I've seen that, but it would seems like you could modulate the freq of a tesla coil much easier than the plasma.. plus it has a very distinct buzz along with the sound on those videos.. either this is a huge improvement or an overdub

Wow, thats hard to believe, but cool. If anyone cares, I built a circuit to drive a ignition coil from a car. I can only get my arc about 1 inch.
